About this Course
Ever wondered what happens to your sub sandwich, Caesar salad and diet coke after eating them? Well, after this course, you will better understand the details of how digestion works. This course explores the different functional parts of the digestive system and how each organ contributes to the digestive process. The information covered in the course also includes both the anatomy of each digestive organ and the physiology of the functional parts of them. Based on what you have learned about the digestive system, you will be able to understand why some foods are healthier than others, and why you should consume a variety of types of foods in your meals.

- General anatomy of organs
- Anatomy of functional parts of specific organs
- Process of digestion in mouth, stomach and intestines
- Chemical digestion
- Mechanical digestion
- Food movement
- Problems of digestive system
- Importance of eating a “whole meal”
