About This Class
Do you love building things and are interested in becoming an engineer? Have you ever wanted to learn about great “engineers” in history and how their work still helps us today? Are there any engineers in the Bible? If you have questions like these, then this is the perfect beginning class for you. In this class, we will be learning all about engineering, its past and present. We will explore about the different kinds of engineers, what they do, how they work, and some of their great accomplishments. We will do a hands-on-design activity, and lastly we will discuss how you can begin thinking and inventing like an engineer today.
Course Objectives: (What will You be able to do)
- Explore historical “engineer” and their works
- Compare the different types of engineers
- Identify the 5 core principles of engineering
- Explain 5 key tools used by engineers
- Describe the process engineers use to solve problems
- Create a design and test it in an activity using what you have learned from this class
Who this course is for:
This course is for children ages 10-15 who have an interest in inventing in order to solve problems.
