About this Class
Have you wondered how the United States of America got to the racial pandemic we are in today? Through this interactive class you will discover the past you wish you know- 0ne that that will enlighten and empower you with pertinent facts about the history of African Americans. Most importantly, this class will help you better understand the plight of African Americans today, and provide you with Biblical principles that will yield empathy, resilience, and hope for the future God has planned for all His children.
Class Description
The Reconstruction Era is one of the most important periods in American history. During this short period African American people made tremendous economic, social and political strides that have yet to be repeated; the South was rebuilt from the ashes of the Civil War and the foundation was laid for many of the negative current racial practices and perceptions African Americans face today.

- Describe the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments
- Explain the Freedman’s Bureau
- Expound on the accomplishments of the newly freed slaves
- View discrimination from a Biblical standpoint
